Alejandro is Mexican by birth, Yucatecan by choice. He holds a Law Degree from Universidad Anáhuac and an MBA from IE Business School of Madrid, Spain; he completed his studies on “Behavioral Finance” at Harvard Business School and Wharton School of Management. He is also a PHD candidate in Strategy and Development from Universidad Anáhuac. As businessman, he is Chairman and CEO of Sabino Capital S.C., a Mexican investment firm..

Alejandro is also President of Opciona, a non-for-profit organization whose objective is to create citizenship for a better Mexico.

Furthermore, he is founder and President of Instituto VIF, an organization that seeks to promote investment in Mexico and social awareness in the corporate sector.

Together with his wife, they founded Fundación Legorreta Hernández, A.C., an organization that seeks to contribute to Mexico’s social development. Alejandro is also a member of the Board of Directors of Casa de Bolsa Acciones y Valores Banamex (Accival) and of Afore Banamex, as well of their respective investment committees. Likewise, he is member of the Board of Trustee of Mexicanos Primero and of the National Institute of Cancerolgy (Instituto Nacional de Cancerología). Abroad he is member of the Latin American Board of Georgetown University, of the International Advisory Board of the Council of the Americas, of the IE Business School Fund and of the G50 Group. He is founder of the Legorreta Hernández Scholarship for the Master of Public Policy Journalism of the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económica, CIDE).

Alejandro is a columnist for Reforma, Forbes and El Diario de Yucatán. He is also professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana and at the Universidad Marista of Merida.
